Each year, the Pack hosts 3 events for the scouts and their families. The idea is to design and build the item, and then participate in the event for placement and prizes. In the summer, we host a Water Bottle Rocket Launch. We start the year off with a Raingutter Regatta, and in the winter we host our Annual Pinewood Derby. Scouts and families participate in and enjoy these events each year!
Oriole Park at Camden Yards opened the field to our scouts! As an incentive for popcorn sales, many of the boys earned free tickets to the Orioles game. Two of our own boys ranked in the top sales for popcorn for the Council and were permitted on the field for a special presentation. It was a great night!
Our May Pack meeting was out of the park fun! We had a baseball themed pack meeting. We started the evening with some warm-ups and exercises. The scouts were then divided into teams and played a game of baseball. A rain delay moved our awards presentation to the inside hall; however, the surprise guest made everything better. THE ORIOLE BIRD game to present our awards. He even played a game of baseball in the rain! We ended the evening with a pretty double rainbow.
Pack 392 spent the weekend camping at McKeldin Area. It was a great time! Friday was started with setup and dinner, followed by a small campfire. Saturday provided many opportunities for hiking, community service, paracord bracelets, sports, and wagon trains. Saturday evening ended with a campfire and skits, complete with desserts prepared by our local Boy Scout Troops. The scouts and families had a great time!
Camping takes you on exciting adventures into the natural world. And it is fun, good for your mind, body, and spirit. It helps you learn to rely on yourself—on your own skills and knowledge. When you go camping as a Cub Scout, you get skills you will learn and use more, later, as a Boy Scout. Pack 392 schedules 3 Family Camping Trips per year (Spring, Summer, and Fall) and encourages Scouts to participate in Council operated Day Camps and Resident Camps (for eligible Scouts).
The Pinewood Derby is a racing event for Cub Scouts, who with the help of their parents, build their own race cars from a kit and race them on a track against other Cub Scouts. The Pinewood Derby is typically scheduled in March.
The Klondike derby is an annual event held by some Boy Scouts of America and Scouts Canada districts during the winter months and is based on the heritage of the Klondike Gold Rush. The event varies but the typical Klondike derby consists of 10 stations where scouts play winter games and test their Scout skills.
Our June Pack meeting was a great meeting to end the year. We welcomed a bunch of new scouts in the Bobcat Ceremony; bridged the remaining scouts to their next rank; and conducted a flag retirement ceremony! We ended the evening with an outdoor movie and S'mores buffet!

Each den often participates in activities on thier own as they work toward the achievements for their specific rank. Recently, our Wolf Den visited Ft. Meade and our Bear Den participated in Glass Blowing and a tour of the local Community Media Center. The scouts were able to make their own video!
Each month, the entire Pack gets together on the First Friday of the Month. We normally host a themed pack meeting. In October we welcomed new Scouts to our Pack and had a special guest! November was our Halloween Party. In December, we invited Special Guests to help with our uniform inspections. After the pack meeting, we had a Holiday Party and sleepover!
Each summer, the Pack puts together numerous activities for Scouts and families to participate in throughout the summer. In addition, Pack 392 supports the Summer Passport, which encourages and rewards Scouts for participation in summer activities. A schedule of Summer Activities is provided to the Pack in April of each year. This past summer, the Pack participated in a fishing trip at the local pond; a day at the big slide; family game night; our Summer Picnic; and our Raingutter Regatta!
